I saw some info about a web pagewhereby you put in a name and it tells you whether or not that person is alive or whatever and also the partners name. I believe one has to register or pay for more info. Does anyone have details of the page please.

Icarus, I downloaded the legacy chart but havent started doing it yet. We are still running about with the brother-in-laws estate. It is all complete now and ready to pay those named in the will as soon as the DHSS are finished. Most people dont know this but if you own property and get benefits, depending on what benefits you get, some has to be re-paid. I hade to take my wife to the Probate Court. They dealt with everything then notified the Social. They informed us that no one is to recieve anything until they have been re-paid. If the solicitor pays out before this and there is not enough left for the Social, then my wife as exeutor will have to pay them herself.
That question I asked. It was put on the geneology thread but I cant find it now. I put in a friends name and it located him and gave me his partners nams as Mu. Her name is Murial. It was a web address and might have included a number. It would not give an address until I registerd or paid.

Could it have been this site, Stitcher?

https://uktrace.co.uk/births_deaths_marriages_new02.htm

Blimey, they charge £29.95 for certificates.

Jeez... I just asked for a death look-up and they wanted £189.12 before releasing the results and not even saying that they've found the right person!

If you need to know if someone died between 1984 and 2005, the Ancestry site is the place.

No Icarus, thats not the one. I am sure it was a female who told me to try it so it may have been ladylinda. I put in a long ago friends name. I couldnt put much more because I have'nt seen this man for almost forty years. Within seconds it came back with several variations and on one it was his name and said his partner was Mu. He callled her Mu because her name was Murial. I will try looking through some posts but it was a few months ago.

Bren, if it is not the one itis similar, I put a name in and it came up with more variations than before so It may not be the same. I will have another look onprevious postings again. Thanks for the help.

Can someone shed a little light on these two marriages please.
James Mottram married Emma Taylor.
Henry Gould married Eliza Cobitt.
Both marriages took place about 1855.

Sorry Stitcher, best i could come up with is --

Emma Taylor 2nd qtr 1958 Aston 6d 325. She could have married either --

Samuel Jones or John Motteram

Thanks a lot bren. I settled for Tribal pages for my tree and I will put it on the forum in the near future. I will see what I can decipher from what you have found.

Sticher, I have a long list (well a few) of Henry Goulds from Brum. Do you have any details back further than this one, or maybe birth date and parentage.

Hi stich I think I remember the site you were talking about, but can't remember it's full name... it was something like "_?_?_?_4u" anyway if it's the same one I'm thinking of it had to close down due to breaching the privacy act, or something. I remember using it a fair amount before it had to close, I found all my family in Hampshire on it that I never knew I had.

Glad you've done so well with your search.

Chris/Pom
