Thank you Alberta for that info. I know very little of my fathers family. I know originally they came over from Ireland. I would love to know when and what part.

are these gormans related to the gormans family of winson green , whom aso ran the wheatsheaf
public house on the corner of Ickneid port road and dudley road next to the police station

Sorry they are not. My father who passed away in 1977 worked for Midland Counties Dairies in his young days and served on the Somme . His father was a gun stock maker. That's all I really know. He never discussed his family much and certaiy I know nothing of his war experiences. When I was young I had contact with 2 of his brothers. Harry who was married to Irene and Alf who was married to Ethel.

Dancing Queen,

James Gorman's service records are online - he served with 333 Road Construction Coy, Royal Engineers and lived at 1/22 Hatchett Street. Whilst there are many pages, most of them have not been have not been filled in, apart from his medical record and a few other odds and ends. Contact me by private message for other details.
