Jaqueline would be my age or maybe a year younger. She was going steady at school, so ‘off limits’ and I don’t know her history at all. She would have lost her name on marriage, but *if* she had a much younger brother then the timescales would allow him to be your son’s fiancée’s dad. Very tenuous link, but would be easy to check this one. Best wishes to them both in any case. Cheers Andrew.

Jacqueline A Goldingay (b1951) appears to have had an elder brother, John G (b1940) but there are at least 6 other John Goldingays born between 1940 & 1970.

Jacqueline sadly passed away in 2005 on the island of Crete
She had 3 elder brothers - Anthony-John-Geoffrey all of whom are still living

I am not aware of any of the direct descendants of Jackie and her brothers are called John
However, Goldingay is a common name in Birmingham and Jackie's father had 2 brothers

I have Ada Goldingay (& husband George Wright) in my family tree as 2nd cousin. They married at Birmingham St Bartholomew in 1913 - the certificate confirms that her father was 'John Gouldinggay, boatman'. Born 18 Nov 1881, father John Goldingay of Tipton & Birmingham, and mother Jemima Benton. John was a canal barge boatman as were many of the Goldingays - transporting mostly coal around the network.
John Goldingay's parents were Josiah Goldingay & Phebe Robinson - Josiah was born in Castle Bromwich in 1812.
I have fair bit of information on the branches of the Goldingay family, - happy to provide/answer queries.
