hello astonian, i think the marriage you want is william jelf to elsie m GOLDBY it was in 1923 jul-sep aston 6d 1138

i believe the name jelf originates from germany

in 1930 william and elsie may jelf were living 140 high st. lozells

in 1935 they are listed at two addresses 140 high st. lozells and 44a loveday st.

in 1939 at three addresses 140 hight st., 214 winson green rd and 44a loveday st.

in 1950 at 27 woodlands farm rd. erdington

in 1955 they are still at 27 woodlands farm rd. erdington and also dennis and raymond jelf are with them

hi shera
how are you fine i hope ?.
many thanks for your fast responce to my reqeust so if the jelf is a german name
what is the goldby name am i correct in saying its a jewish name .
i presume you may be familar with the libary ledgers of electrol rolls
the early ones as you start to open them up it tell you certan things there is certain insignaters
explaing what they are one of them say they are not aloud to vote in that boughrog
some will state the wifes is the husband proffession and all thoses
so with the mark agaist certan jelfs it states that was not allowed is it becauseof the war yers or what was the reason for them to be excluded inthose days
shera i would really appreciate if possible you could put me right onthat
if you cannot answer not to worry may bsome-one else may be help and advise

Hi Astonian.

I have Jelf(s) in my Family Tree

Clifford Jelfs 1926 married into my Adams family Barbara 1930 both from Evesham

As far as I can gather their children were linda, Brian, Terry, Peter, Paul and Chris, All born Evesham.

Not sure about the name being German as the earliest Jelfs in the tree is Ann Jelfs 1735/1810 born Bretforton, Worcestershire, England

hi dibs
many thanks for that info, about you don,t think they are german, and secondly sorry for not coming back sooner i was told by a another member this so i have gone by there word
regarding some of the names you have put forward they do not match my jelf
except for the ann jelf i am very much intrested in especialy being born in bretonford where there a good possible
connections is there any chance you could give me more info on her such where she lived dae of birth
or whom she may have married because there was a little cottage that was thatch which did belon to th jelfs from around thast period in the village and it was carried right through untill the year of 1953--55 to the generations of the jelfs until the one gambler of the jelfs sold it off to an out side person from the jelfs
i shall be calling in atthe worc libary tommorrow and do some more researching on a couple of things
i hope this is possible for you to tell me any think
the village is stil bussing with the jelfs through out do you know of the village its self? ,
best wishes Astonian ;;

Hi guys
I was wondering is it possible for some-one whom as got access to records
for brettonford rd honeyborne for the period of around 1869 year
i am trying to trace a child born to a frank jelf and a lady whom i do not quite was her name
she was of an origin of germany whom had a son by the name of hanz which is a german name
that being is christian name its quite possible that the lady was married to a man named hughes
so in disrespect i supose i should say or asked for a family by the name of hughes
living at no 2 high street brettonford cow honeybourne as it was then known
as today its only known by honeyborne
there was a family living by the name of hughes living on the old stratford rd honeybourne eversham
by the old honeybourne rail way station and just along from the old air field
around the 1940,s whom may be connected the story goes that this german lady deserted her son hanz
and ran off with a frank jelf
i know this sounds abit of a hand ful but i would really like and appreciate any info i could get
if its possible for anybody whom may be able to spare abit of there valuable time i sincerely thank them
best wishes astonian ;;
