Trying hard to trace any Gee who have may have had relatives in Aston in the past especially Park Rd, Wainwright St or Common Lane, W Hth:)

The Gee's had a Drapery shop that sold everything "Woolen" at 109 Lozells Rd ,Handsworth about 1930's (page 7 Birmingham Shops Alton Douglas)

Thanks for the Gees Wool shop in the 30's but it's current Gee's I'm anxious to speak to if anyone knows any who may have connections in Aston or in the past, thanks again for the response.:)

Eric....lets try a different approach
Would any member of the forum if they are a member of Friends Reunited or Genes Reunited do a lookup for Eric
He needs to get it touch with a member of the Gee family from Aston

Oh Well thanks anyway Di Poppit for trying to finding the elusive Gee's, I can't give up now, perhaps try the steam telephone and strike lucky, cheers???

Thanks Brummie Nick for that I can see me having to do some phoning, just rang two and one did have a grandfather who survived WW1 but is passing later were war injuries related. The person I rang is making further enquiries and has promised a return call. Is it possible after just 2 phone calls?????? Fingers crossed for me and thanks again to you and others for being kind, E Clayton

Just thought i would let you know that the name Gee is Irish (Mcgee) so maybe they dropped the Mc as a lot of Irish did Years ago. good luck.
If i see anything on my travels i will let you know.

Thanks for that Catkin, Reference Gunner H Gee - I do know this WW1 soldier's Next of Kin was given as Mrs Gee of Park Rd Aston, locating any of his descendants would make one old man very happy
thanks again, Eric

Eric I have left a message on the message board at Ancestry, there is a lady who was researching the Gee family of Birmingham, it was back in 2000. There is no email for her, but if she should happen to look my message is there.

Regarding my search for descendants of WW1 Gunner H Gee, it continues with batches of mail shots to addresses gleaned from BT, some phone responses and a rather daunting list of present day Gee's from a very kind lady in Acocks Green. But without any success as yet but I haven't given up, lets face it they never gave up in the trenches all those years ago. Many thanks for the kind interest shown from those of you on this forum, hope you are all having a nice Easter.
