Lots of memories about this branch of M&S. Used to be heaving in there on a Saturday. Had to fight your way to the section you wanted.

I once went for an interview for a management job there. Didn't get it - their loss . Have to say the manager who interviewed me was, in any case, not someone I'd have enjoyed working for. He did impress me though with his filofax, first time I'd ever seen one. Claimed that's all you needed to do the job - well "good for you I thought" (sarcastically) !!

A company I worked for decided to buy one of those for the management team. After about three years of throwing it away unused and the end of each year I told them I didn’t need it, turns out most of the leadership team told the HR department the same thing. And yes in engineering we used Gantt charts or critical path and then Microsoft project (which we still use). That covers about 55 years of running businesses!
