Frost.. birth

I am trying to establish the birth year of Leonard Frost, Birmingham. His mothers maiden name was Greaves. He was killed in a motorbike accident in 1961 in Birmingham, and I believe he was in his early 20's. He left behind a wife and child (unborn?) Any information would be most appreciated.

the only thing i can find for him is the death which was 1961 bham as you said and he was aged 26. that puts his birth at 1935 but ive looked all through the indexes for 1934-1936 and no sign of him.

there is a birth of leonard frost in birmingham in 1935 jan-mar but that is mothers maiden name cotterill
 
there is a marriage of leonard s frost which is to june m wheatley in 1957 bham

and a birth of stephen L frost mmn wheatley in oct-dec 1961 bham.
 
Thanks Shera, I did have a look through the BMD's and I could'nt find anything except the same as you. Leonard was my cousin and he had a brother named Samuel b,1931 to a Samuel and FRances Frost (nee Greaves).. I cannot understand the Cotterill side of things. The only thing left is to try and contact Samuel who is still alive and living down south somewhere. I have a cousin who will know his address so I will pay her a visit. Thanks again for your help. But if you do come across anything please let me know.

I have that info,apart from Stephen, its just his birth year that puzzles me.

the birth year should be ok because we only know leonard frost died in 1961 and not the month and the baby stephen could have been born anything from sept 1961
 
hi terry, i think ive solved your problem. theres a marriage of frances g cotterill to george v greaves in aston 1923 jul-sep. although you named leonard frosts mother as florence i saw on the electoral rolls that she was listed as frances g frost. so she had already been married before when she married samuel frost, and was actually frances g frost, nee greaves, formerly cotterill

there is also a death of george v greaves in 1926 aged 31yrs in bham

I did notice the mistake so I went back and edited the post and changed the name to Frances. Sorry to mislead you. Florence was another aunt of mine.Anyway, to update you.I have just got back from a cousin of mine who told me that she was born 4 months before Leonard and he was born in December 1934,and they grew up together and were very close. So the Cotterill Leonard looks to be the same one I am looking for,which makes sense. As for Frances being married before this is news to me and I am sure it will be news to my cousin as she would have mentioned it. As an aside,Leonards widow remarried and her new husband adopted the child. Leonards brother still keeps in touch to this day. Thank you again Shera,you have been most helpful.

in 1911 frances g cotterill was 12 years old and living with her parents in 76 catherine st. aston manor.
father was samuel cotterill aged 59 carter in coal trade and mother was jane cotterill aged 49. also a son howard j cotterill aged 14 . samuel and jane cotterill had been married for 30 years at that time and had had 6 children but 2 had died.
