free war time records from 5th to 11th may

Still going to normal searches......but I tried from my Ancestry page and scrolled down to military and all I had for 2 people was that card and it could be anyone as nothing to connect them to who you are after and another 2 nothing at all comes up.......I have yet to identify a relation on these free periods.
 
When I entered a WW1 relative who died in 1917 I got a list headed "VE Day Records" not a search page. I already have his details I was just trying the search out.
When I tried the WW2 relative who was in the navy i got normal search results.
A lot of WW2 records don't seem to be on Ancestry - some still covered by 100 year rule?
