Sorry im confused, if they were twins, wouldnt Winnie have been listed also. Interesting thing ive just found is that an Ann Pratt was born in 1862 in Bromyard, now in 1911 there is an Elsie Francis living with a household of Pratt's (sorry couldnt resist). Could Ann be the sister of Mary Ann Pratt's widow??
Well done ladylinda! I was just looking through freebmd - so I wonder where Elsie was on the 1901?
James, I thought they may have been twins because Willie was down as being born 1896 and it was quite common in those days to send babies or little children to stay with relatives.
This is a mystery!?!? I'm trying to tie in Ann Pratt born 1862 in Bromyard marrying Thomas Francis, if so that may explain why an Elsie Francis was living with a family by the name of Pratt at age 14 and is described as niece

Is it possible that records in War time were not kept as I cannot find my great grandfather's death. He was alive in the summer of 1945. Has anyone any ideas?
Nico
Could be a transcription error (I've had several of these) - try different spellings for the surname when you search.
Another thought - have you tried the probate register? If he had a will you should find details there. If you don't have access to this I'll be pleased to have a look for you if you send a few details (pref by IM) - full name, address if known, next of kin etc.
