Francis Blackham : cabinet maker

sheri

master brummie
I am looking for Francis Blackham who is in Kellys for 1899 as a cabinet maker (I think this is a furniture maker which would fit in with several gt.aunts who were french polishers). His address is 27 St Luke's Road.
I have tried to find him in the census's but cannot find him. On e of the gt.aunts was called Frances - could it be likely she started a cabinet makers business? I've been looking for some connection for years so any help would be gratefully received.

Hi Mikejee and Shera,

Thank you for your replies - I am fairly convinced n ow that Frances is my GT.aunt - I didn't look for her in 1901 but in 1891 she's still living with her parents at Bell Barn Rd. - she was born in 1858 and didn't marry until 1907. It seems a strange thing for a woman in those days to set up as a cabinet maker but her occupatio n was as a French Polisher - I will have to look her up on the 1911 census when I get access to it.
I think there was a furniture manufacturing business before in this family in the 1880's but can't find it.
Thanks once more,
Sheri
