Another building that had a Midland Red connection it about to be knocked down it is or was the Midland Red Sports and Social Club at 123 Digbeth Brum https://my.bus.photos.fotopic.net/p69316050.html it will soon go and I think that they are going to build flats there? the history of the club goes back to the mid 1930,s it appears in the directory I have in 1934 there is a clock over the building I am not certain but it looks like it may be all that is left of the original club, if the walls of the club could speak what tales would they give apart from "that bus driver is drunk get him out" it is not just the former club that is to go the building next to it a former warehouse/ cold store will go as well

In the early 60s I was a bct conducter and we used to use the MidlandRed club in Digbeth. It was then run by an Irish man called Danny, he had a very gentle voice and when It came to closing time He would call out `See the good beers off please`
