In 1901 they are in Barford Street with the addition of Valentine age 9 and Violet age 4

This is your direct paternal family tree

Pamela,What is it that makes you think that Henry Floyd/Ada Gray don't fall in the right order

Thomas Floyd born 1841 birmingham possibly the son of William Floyd and Jane Midlam who married in 1833.

Thomas married Elizabeth Hodson in 1862
Their son Henry born 1867

Henry married Ada Gray in 1885
their son Valentine born 1893

Valentine married Jennie Guest in 1913
their son Ronald born 1928

Re: Help please....

Pamela, when using Ancestry be very careful not to believe all of the family trees that are submitted by members.
I have found so many that are incorrect in some way or another ,much better to start from scratch and try to verify
things for yourself.

Re: Help please....

Hi Pamela, if i give you a brief outline of your Lagoes you will be able to use info to find the census entries on Ancestry(I hope you are finding your subscription to Ancestry interesting.

Rose M Lagoe born 1930

her parents were Arthur Lagoe and Kate Butler who married in 1927

Arthur Lagoe was born Arthur Ernest Lagoe in 1903, Aston
his parents were Edwin Lagoe and Elizabeth Farmer who married in 1900(she is Lizzie on the 1901 census)

Edwin Lagoe was born Edwin James Lagoe in 1879 Birmingham
his parents were Edwin Lagoe and Betsy Bannister who married in 1870

Edwin Lagoe was born in Sutton Coldfield 1841
his parents were Thomas Lagoe and Sarah Ashford who married in Sutton Colfield 23rd December 1832

On census Thomas is born Warwickshire 1808

I hope this helps. Alberta

alberta, thank you for the information, thats great, we was trying to find out about our nan kate butler, all we know for sure she married arthur lagoe, and that she died on the 24th may as that was our moms birthday, [ rose may ] we think she was buried cathrine lagoe, my sister irene and i are trying but dont seem to be getting very far, we looked at census because we know nan had sisters ,rose, claria, amy, just a mystery, thank you again alberta, pam x

Pamela and Irene, your nan is on Ancestry in the 1911 census, as Kate Butler - I have the details, which I can put on if you want, but haven't in case you want to trace her yourself and get the info - I know I loved the help, but also got cross with myself because I hadn't found it, so just re-post if you want me to put it on for you.
Sue

hello sue, we did find some thing on the census, but wasnt sure if it was the same kate, will you please give us the info you have found as we seem to be hitting a brick wall, thank you pam x

Hi Pamela, this is the one I found, I would think it is the right one, as her siblings names match, if you want to look at it yourself, I searched on "all categories" with Kate Butler, born 1902 +/- 5, added maariage in any events as 1927, which Alberta found and then in family members put Arthur Lagoe, which you already knew.

Hope this is the right one, if not let me know and we can look again - remember some of the sisters may not be on if they were younger than Kate.
I looked at the deaths and like you can only pick up Catherine Lagoe in Birmingham in May 1976, so would follow that that is what she was buried as.
Haven't looked for birth yet, do you know if she came from Birmingham?
Sue

Hi Sue.We are sure this is right but not sure of Alice and Rhoda. Our nan passed away 24th may 1996.Our mom rose passed away 16th June 1990 which is our nans daughter. We think our nan came from Yorkshire then moved to Birmingham.Thank's for your help.Irene

That makes a difference, am struggling for a Kate or Catherine from Birmingham, have got one from Worcester born 1904, so dates would fit, but there are a few from up north. Thing that was throwing me is on 1911 census, Kate is listed as being born in Birmingham, but the census isn't always right!
Sue

Hi Sue.Thank's for your help.I've just spoke 2 my cousin and he said there is a connection to Halifax nan's sister's lived there.Irene

Ok will look in that direction for you. Still having no luck with a burial place either, do you know where she was living before her death?
Sue

Catherine Lagoe death registered 1996 birthdate given as 6th February 1902

Catherine Butler birth registered Birmingham Jan/Feb/March qtr 1902.
