The cencus adress shows where the person was at that date. Alsp "butcher" does not mean he is the owner of a shop, but merely that his trade was a butcher. Kellys directories show Edwin Swadkins as a butcher having a shop at 152 Gooch St. for period of at least 1880 till. 1892, and also one at
407 Stratford Road from at least 1888 till 1892. A Frederick Swadkins, butcher, had a shop at 287 Coventry Road from at least 1888 till 1892, and there is another listing of two Frederick Swadkins, butcher, ( separately listed so likely to be a different person), at 101 Longmore Street and at 103 Villa Road, and a Walter Swadkins , butcher at 28 Bristol Road, all in 1888. . In 1892 the re was also a Frdericj Swadkins butcher at 168 High St , Aston. So it seems that the Swadkins were a family of butchers
