Fish and chip shop in Longmore Street, was definately there until 1966 does anyone know what happened after that.

The owner died aged 94 and she ran it until 3 weeks before she died.

Hi Sue,
Would this be Mrs. Floyds fish and chip shop? I lived nearby and regularly ate her chips - out of newspaper of course. We left the area in 1966 as a result of the slum clearance.

:Aah:Yes it would.. Sarah Ann was my great grandmother. You probably knew her better than I did as I was only just 4 when she died and because we lived in Hereford I didn't get to see her very much. In fact I cannot remember her at all.

I wish my mother was still alive as she would have been able to tell you a great deal about your g.grandmother I think. I can only remember buying chips from her and that she was hard working. I will contact other relatives of mine in case they know more and will send you a PM. I had a photo of Longmore Street somewhere. If I can find it I will post it. Jill
 
I have to say I have so enjoyed watching this thread unfold. Its lovely when people can connect. Look forward to some more pictures.
