Looking for the burial site of my Gt Aunt Alice Field (nee Hunt). She died 03/12/1968 whilst living at 8/30 Roland Rd B19. I've tried Witton Cemetary records and those of Key Hill and Warstone Lane but cannot find her. I know she was a Catholic so crematoriums are out of the question. Any other possible sites in that area?
 
Have you tried looking for an obituary in the Evening Mail ? lots of people had them in the 60s to 90s All the death in my family in the time scale are there, with where the burial service is taking place, and the name of the undertakers,
 
Try Witton - they have different sections, but not sure if any would be for Catholics. Failing that, I think there was a church with burial ground called St Josephs, somewhere in the Lichfield Road area. Not sure about Catholic burials, never had to look up one myself. Shortie
 
There is a Catholic cemetery in Chester Road, New Oscott,my friends Dad was buried there in the early 60s.
 
both my Mother and Father in Law were Catholics and both were cremated ..sorry to throw a spanner in the works
 
Have you tried Handsworth Cemetery. I,ts difficult my mother was a R.C. she was cremated then her ashes were allowed to be scattered on the family plot at the Abbey Erdington miles from where we lived at the time. Dek
 
Been to the library today and tried the Evening Mail from December 1968 but no luck. Even tried the Daily Post. Nowhere else to go, her children have all since died (childless). I know she was baptised in a CE church in Worcester where she was born (she converted after marriage - at St Nicolas CoE Newtown). Her parents are both interred at Witton in unmarked plots. Her youngest son Raymond died in 2007 and the informant was someone from Northumberland (long way to come to inform of a death in Erdington) and no relation at all. What is unusual is the informant's qualification which is "causing the body to be cremated". I presume Raymond was a RC too.

I have a death certifacte and under Qualification is Causing the body to be buried. The informant was the Undertaker.
