In the Vulcan Inn pic, Barn Street is the left of the corner, and Fazeley Street on the right. When I was there, (50's) the inn was gone, and the corner had been pushed back. Imagine a (straightish) line between the two wall mounted lamps. This gave a wide pavement round that corner, much like it is now. The building that replaced the inn was a featureless place, connected with Belling, of Baby Belling cooker fame. Here are three others. The Vulcan Inn was on the corner of Barn st, marked at 151a on the map. Have just realised that the forum has changed (again)m and when I hover the cursor over a photo it does not now show title. The first has the forge Inn on it. the second is Cliffords Mill and the third the vulcan Inn.
Apparently hovering does work for some. Maybe it is something on my machine only

From memory, the Forge would be at the end of Fazeley Street, camera in Heath Mill Lane, looking towards Great Barr Street, with Liverpool Street out of view on the right completing the crossroads. That corner (following the cyclist) was the route the 53 bus took taking me to primary school.
From a very hazy memory, opposite the Fazeley Street sign, so left of picture, there was some motoring type establishment, maybe a garage or car sales ?
Andrew.
