hi my dad says that his nan had two shops.
one on the corner of northbrook street and dudley road and the other just up the road from it on dudley road.
he says he used to go to them, so it must have been around 1937-40.
how can i find out about them.
his nan and grandads names were
alice may smith and samuel smith. the trouble is they wouldnt have run them as he was a mechanic and she was the local midwife
any ideas
and a picture if anyone has one of the shops on this corner

There was only one corner with buildings on . In 1938 there was Charles Oliver Brettel , wine & spirit merchant nearest the corner on dudley road, and Leslie Broadway, corn dealer and George Bates , hairdresser in northbrook st
