Hi

I am trying to find out more information about a relative of mine called Willoughby George Ewins. He was born in 1885 in Worcesteshire, and then moved to Birmingham at the start of the 20th century to be a tram driver.

He was married to Emily Morgan and had a son called Ernest.

Thanks

in 1911 he was living 221 tiverton rd. bournbrook in kings norton. he was born 1884 in wadborough worcs. at this time he had been married to his wife emily for 1 yr. she was born in 1882 in grindon bishop, herefordshire. willoughby was a tramway motorman.

in 1912 1925 and 1930 he is recorded on the electoral rolls at 725 warwick rd. acocks green.

emily is not listed on these but ernest appears on the 1930 list with willoughby.

willoughby died in 1935 in birmingham but i cant find the death of emily.

Hi all

Thanks for all of your help. Some of the things you have found I managed to find already. However the information about his whereabouts between 1912-30 was useful.

As for his death, I have his certificate that states he died in 1958 in Ironbridge, as his son Ernest was confirmed as a witness to his death. The Willoughby Ewins who died in 1935 may be the brother of Eliza Ewins (Willoughby George's mother).

I agree that Willoughby George is from either another marriage or was an illegitimate child. He stated his father was William Ewins. However he seems to have lied about a few other things over history (including stating his name was William Ewins when Ernest was born), so I don't think his father is correct.

One of the births in 1885 for Willoughby George Ewins died a few months after.

Once again, thanks for all of your help.
