Hi all, my uncle Eric Gibson who was a member of this forum, sadly passed away on 25th January this year, he was 90 years old. I know that he loved getting involved on this forum and sharing old stories. I will miss him greatly as he was the last living brother of my father.

So very sorry to hear this news. I didn't know him personally but enjoyed "meeting" him through his many posts.
Thank you for joining the Forum and telling us.
When senior members stop posting we are often left wondering what has happened to them.
Commiserations on your sad loss.

David, I'm sorry to hear that about your uncle. Condolences to you and your family and thank you for letting us know.

We too have missed him on BHF. He often posted about his memories of living in Kingstanding, and as a former resident too, I always enjoyed reading his comments. He will be missed by many members.

RIP Eric.

hi dave so very sorry to hear that eric has passed away...he was one of our longest serving members joining us in 2003..we had quite a few chats about villa st over the years as that is where i grew up and eric worked at watsons garage in villa st..i had noticed that he had not posted on the forum since jan 24th so i sent him a couple of private messages to ask if he was ok..as a mark of respect i will arrange for the words "gone but not forgotten"to be added under erics avatar...sincere condolences to you all..

Thank you all for your kind words. I want to share just a couple of photos of Eric; one of him winning the pools, which I believe he’s already told you about, and a second photo of when he was a young man after he fully restored an old Rolls Royce. I believe that Rolls Royce was sold to someone in the US but Eric was never able to trace it after that. Thanks all.

Thank you for passing on the sad news David and those photographs above. Eric will be much missed on this site and my thoughts are with you and the rest of his family. HEITS - (Eric told us that his father was a Villa fan and that he was named after former manager/player Eric Houghton on the Aston Villa History thread).
