Hi SABS, Welcome to the Forum. I seem to remember that a bomb dropped in Enstone Road in WW2 and I'm sure there was something on the Goosemoor Lane website - might be worth a look. My friend lived in the furthest end of the road and the house behind, which was next to the Rose & Crown, used to have geese in the garden.

endstone road was the first to be hit by ww2 bombs aug 9th 1940 fortunately there were no casualties ...2 photos below showing number 16 an 18 after being hit and a 2003 view..click on link below
