hello chrissie, for members to try to help we need names, approx dates, areas etc which you are looking for. had a look on the electoral rolls 1912-1950 and there are hundreds of elwells
Thanks Shera. I do know I have to be specific, but hoping I may get lucky with relations whom I do not have any addresses for. Could you please tell me how I can research the electoral rolls for the dates you have mentioned?
Hi, Jean.
I know we’re on an old thread, but -
I went to Paget Road school in the 60’s with Mary Elwell who had a brother Freddie (Freddy) who was a year or two above us.
Freddie climbed onto the school roof at Paget road and fell and broke his back- fortunately he survived.
Could they be the same Elwell’s? It isn’t a common name.
I don’t remember much about them, but it is a point of interest – I might even have know you!
Paul the Fred I knew used to bowl [tenpin] with Steve Phipps who I am in contact with on face book. He has lost touch with Fred but there was an obituary to a person of this name some years ago. Am off to bed shortly as we have had a busy day driving round Wales. Jean.
I don't know that much- I only remember going to school with them, and not much about that! Certainly I wouldn't have known him later as a ten-pin bowler. But every bit of info might be a help to somebody.
