Egginton, George Henry

theodore

master brummie
Son of Charles and Martha Ann Egginton born March Q. 1885 baptism 18 Feb. 85. Found 1891 and 1901 census records for him also 1911 census for parents and siblings (64 Herrick St. Wolverhampton?). Not found a 1911 census for George. He did enlist in the Worcestershire Regiment (Nov. 1905) and I have checked 1911 census for 1, 2, 3 , 4 and 5th Battalions but nothing. Nothing for 1939 register that fits with the info I have. Possible death record for Sept. Q. 1943 aged 58 (B'ham), this would fit his birth for 1885.
Any help would be appreciated.

Peter

The death registered in 1943 Bham is for a George Henry Egginton and there is no other birth registration in England and for a George Henry about the same time.

Appears to be listed at 5 Westridge Road on 1939 register as George H, 1939ER lists him at the same address as George Henry, both with with wife Gwendoline Anne. Birth month on 1939 register is Jan so also matches birth reg.

She's a few years younger and they married in 1939 and she re-marries.

Thank you for your input. I did see the marriage to Gwendoline Anne and also National Probate details for George (1943 death) so could be correct just need to do a little more research to tie the ends up. Still no 1911 census though.

The only problem with that one is, unless there's a mistake somewhere (not impossible), then he would have been baptised before he was born.

It is possible that the Yardley George was registered Jun 1885, as Eggington.

Not sure if this helps or not:
The George Henry Egginton born Mar qr 1885 is registered with mmn Perry. This fits with a marriage between Charles Egginton and Martha Ann Perry.
There is also a George Eggington reg Jun qr 1885 (this could fit with a birth of 25 Mar not being reg until Apr) with mmn Woodward. This means his parents were Thomas and Ann.
Both births reg in Wolverhampton

Thank you for your input on George. I have 1911 census details and George is not married (at this time) and I know its the correct census because I know the address (64 Herrick St., Wolv.) from Militia info for George (enlisted 1905). 1901 and 1911 census records show them living with Ann Allibone (head) widow who was the sister of Charles Egginton (father of George).
