Edmar Engineering Lichfield Road Aston

Hello, before I post a specific post, I wondered if anyone has any photos/ history relating to 455-463 Lichfield Road. This is now our business Edmar Engineering, and as we turn 80 in June we are interested in finding out more of the history. I have seen the two photos on the thread from 1921 and 1930 which cover this part of the road but nothing else. To help with location we are opposite the Powerleague and next to where the Reservoir pub was on the corner of Lichfield Road and Cuckoo Road. Thank you so much.

Did Edmar start out at 455 Lichfield Road in the 1950s ? 1957 is the earliest reference I can find in newspapers By 1978, Edmar had moved also into #457 and #459 Lichfield Road.

Here are a few adverts about the company.

In 1967, there's another company at #455 called Midland Cam and Tool Co. Or was it shared premises ? In 1979 T.H.Jennings (Bham) Ltd were at #455. Did they also share premises ?

Hi Viv, thank you for this. We own 455-463 but some of these have been rented out to other companies, hence the other names you have found. We were incorporated on 13/6/1945 and have operated from 457 and rear factory ever since.

Don't know how interested you are in the history of the buildings Edmars owns, but here are some details of a sale in 1913, well before your time of course. They belonged to Benjamin Parsonage who had passed away.

The row and the rear was a mix of residential, retail, and workshops and gardensat the rear at that time.
