Duern, Wallace Albert

lynne webb

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
I'm looking for any trace of Wallace Albert Duern in the years between 1921 and 1945. He is not with his wife and family after 1921 and I cant find him anywhere until he turns up dead in the canal at Saltley in Feb. 1945, after last being seen in Dec. 1944. Two members have looked on Electoral Rolls and Passenger Lists but theres nothing for him. Has anyone any ideas of where I can go from here please. Thanks.
Lynne.

Re: Wallace Albert Duern

hi lynne, i presume you have seen his probate records where he is listed as living 184 st. saviours road, saltley with agnes buckley. agnes was living at that address since 1925 so perhaps he was there with her but didnt fill in electoral registers so he couldnt be traced? he left his money to agnes buckley.
i expect you have this information anyway. all the best, shera

Re: Wallace Albert Duern

Hello Shera, thanks for replying, I had seen the probate records, when Wallace disappeared from the Electoral Roll I wrongly assumed he had died although I couldn't find his death in the records. I suppose if he left his wife and family, he wouldn't want to be found. Thanks again.
Lynne.

Re: Wallace Albert Duern

It has always been known that the electoral register misses out some, probably in many cases those who don't wish to be found. In 1991 it was estimated (not sure how) that 7.1 % of eligable electors were missing
