Downing/Willis

Hi

Yes Northwood Street. My family lived there for a while
after the first World War.
I have a few photo's showing the area and type of housing.
Marlbourgh Place shows the typical housing which was located close by.

Amazing Mike--your pic on the left is the bit that my friend bought off the council I think and Goslings is now his business (AE Hariss) and there is a gate across the road!

A shot of my mother Kathleeen Willis nee Downing, Grandad David Downing and my father Frank Willis about 1952 in Heath Street, Winson Green.Seems such a long time ago.Kathleen Willis, David Downing, Frank Willis.jpg

There doesn't appear to be a birth reg. listed for a Pamela Willis with mmn Downing.

Is she the daughter of Frank Willis and Joyce Hadley?

Yes we are interested in both please

Your father in law seems fairly easy to trace, born in Gateshead which you probably already know.

Your mother in law is a little more tricky, there are a number of trees on Ancestry that suggest that she was born Joyce Brown, the daughter of a Sophia Brown. Living on St Vincent on the 1939 register.

It may be best for you to start a new thread under surname interests. Keeps from swamping this thread and potential relatives would be more likely to notice it.
