I remember Douglas Road for only one thing, when I worked for Vernons in 1969 till 73 and there was a Postal strike and we had to deliver any winnings up to £5000 by hand.

I called at a house on the right and was met by a Woman introduced myself and told her I had a cheque for her, yes she said and all she said was I know and he in there aint getting any took the envelope and shut the door in my face without a please or .....
I've never past that road after without wondering what happened.

It don't half stir the memory this Forum.

I will ask my mum if she remembers who lived at number 19 Robert.
