Just a little note to say we are running a little low on funds we have enough for the next few months, but anything you can give to help keep the site going is always appreciated.

either way even if I pay the site won't go down :)

thank you as always

How many members, making a monthly donation, would it take to keep the site going ?
The reason I ask is if the promotion of donations was pushed a little, maybe the number taking part may reduce the monthly contribution ?

thank you all for the donations so far it's much appreciated and everything helps!

it is very much gratefully received.

thankfully out hardware is petty new so shouldn't be any surprise shocks any time soon

I signed up for the monthly subscription, even if you can’t/don’t want to do that, please try to make a donation of some kind. It is unfair to let it fall mostly on Warren and it is for such a good cause!

Agreed - I also signed up.
Just looking at the home page we seem to have lots of guests and very few members on line at present:-

Is there anything we can do to encourage the 409 guests to become members I wonder - assuming they are not all bots of course!

On most sites (ie: 28dayslater) you have to become a member to see the vast majority of content. I think that is fair enough. Its not like we are asking for the earth. If all 409 guests joined and donated a pound a month that's nearly £5K extra per year coming in.
Yes, I think that is more than fair! Even if you could be a non paying guest for a month (or something like that) then make a modest contribution and go from there. To Marks point a £1 per month would help (or more).

just wanted to be a little bit more cheeky to get that last £80 we need for the license, i appreciate everyone who has dontated of course! but with this last bit i can pay in advance and not have to worry about it for a little while :D

thank you as always we couldnt keep going without you and it means the world to me.

ill add the last month then we have 6 months running costs sorted as well :) the we wont need another drive until next year yay!

I’m having a nightmare today around PayPal. Set up an account to donate, not sure what I’m doing wrong but thought it would go out of my bank account straight away via PayPal. It’s not showing up in my pending or any activity in paypal.
However, thought the donation was accepted.
Spoke to by bank nothing in pending which I knew. They t said it usually shows in pending almost straight away
PayPal have take 1p out to I guess access my bank.
I’m sure I’ve set up PayPal wrong
Any suggestions.
I’ll leave it a few days to see if the the donation goes out of my bank .
If it hasn’t any ideas how to donate directly from my bank

PayPal wiil send you a email confirming payment
Or log on to your account and checkout your Activity
You may have entered the details incorrectly
which i did a few times when i first started using Paypal
Have you validated your Bank card to your account?
the fact they took a Penny is a good
sign
Good Luck

I think I know what I’ve done regarding the donation.I donated before i was linked to bank.
Then I linked to bank had second thoughts because I’m in a joint with husband, but have my own log in and bank account number.
Thought as I’m away not sure if my hub wants his card link.so I withdraw the link to my bank
All very complicated.
I have a credit card in my own name, so I’m waiting to see if by anything goes out this week, and if not will use my credit card I think on paypal

That is the best way to do it. We have a joint account with our own cards tied to the account (didn’t plan it that way) but it works!

As far as I know you don't need PayPal.
You can click on the credit card link underneath and just use your card details. The donation gets added to your credit card bill.
Unless things have changed that is what I always do.
I've never used PayPal

I think you could be right Janice, I had to use PayPal because I am in the US. Transferring directly from a card should also work.
