Likewise the Doffer, the machine he's working at has Taunton Massachusetts on the end.
I did though have a great uncle who was a Birmingham lamplighter.

Taunton Mass is/was an area known for the development of textile equipment. Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island etc, known as New England were the centers of textile and weaving equipment including gun and ammunition production and development.
