I did though have a great uncle who was a Birmingham lamplighter.
There's a well-known folk song 'The Doffing Mistress' which originated in the Ulster linen mills. Anne Briggs recorded this in 1963, but lots of folk singers have sung versions. Taunton Mass is/was an area known for the development of textile equipment. Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island etc, known as New England were the centers of textile and weaving equipment including gun and ammunition production and development.
