Do you think the Misses will like this?

I think he wants to come in! Great pictures!
I remember the only time I saw or heard seagulls was on holiday - now they are everywhere - early this morning I was lying in bed listening to them (before the normal garden birds were awake) soon we will have to start calling them Landgulls.

On the coast of Wales they are a real pest they pinch the food out of your hands and dive at you. There are a lot of notices up now asking you not to feed them.

In Devon a couple of years ago I had a pasty taken from my hand - much to the amusement of my family :D
But actually it really hurt as it grabbed hold of my thumb too :( - I wouldn't like to be attacked by one thats for sure!

Hi Rowan, I'm glad to see Mr C Gull is still with you, maybe he's going to invite you to his nest warming when it's built.

Di. this must be about the 6th or 7th year he has shown us the nesting material  But he never goes away he's here all the year round as several people feed him so why go looking for food when it's on tap at the local take-away!!! :P

Another gull (Mr Baba) has taken up residence on our garden shed roof and he is very brave and comes right up to you to be fed

Graham............... very good

There are notices all round the visitor places asking people not to feed the gulls but we live on top of their "runway" so aren't included in that request :D

Did anyone see this in todays paper it,s horrific some people are just barbaric.Dek:angry2::angry2::angry2:

Didn't see it Dek but guess it's because we don't buy papers. It is sad that people get pleasure out of causing pain and grief to other creatures.:explode: Jean.

That's disgraceful,re post 11,why would you do that,Did anybody see on the news a while ago sea gulls are coming further and further inland, the place that was featured and the name escapes me,but residents said they had to wash their cars every day. They had taken up residence at a local car park,The sea gulls i mean not the residents, and the attendant was chased and attacked daily, and he said he was sure it was the same bird.I think maybe it was the mother and she had chicks

Elizabeth when Pete worked at Carlsberg gulls took over the car park and became very agressive when they had young. They used to bring in a man with a hawk to scare them and sometimes cull them. One day he was in the canteen bragging about how he enjoyed the job of disposing of the gulls and he almost got his head kicked in. He made a sharp exit. Jean.

Liz,

That would be Gloucester where the sea gull has chased the attendent for several years!!

the best of it is.................. he saved the gull when it fell out of it's nest

The birds are going more inland because food is so easy to find with all the take away food
that HUMANS drop or throw away!!

If food wasn't so easy to nab they would still be fishing out at sea.

I bet he regrets saving it now!
There are docks at Gloucester so I would imagine that seagulls feel quite at home there with the boats and tourists :)

:)Hello Rowan it was very interesting,i felt a bit sorry for the attendant,it must be a bit scary being chased by a bird,it reminds me of that old Hitchcock film. The Birds
