Do we really need it?

When I was a Hackney Carriage owner driver, with permision from the council I fitted a seat and belt in the front for my son. I started taking him with me at night when he was about ten years old. I also had a contract delivering parcels to Halfords shops. My area was from Cesterfield to Scotland and all the east coast. It used to take two days and I had a friend en route whose wife used to put us up for a night and feed us. That was a monthly journey. The rest of the time I worked the airport until the early hours, then I came into town when the clubs turned out. This included looking after and ferrying around famous people while they were in Birmingham. Every summer the cab trade took a couple of hundred youngsters from various special schools and childrens homes to the Safari park or a Circus. My wife and son came along as well. At Xmas we took these children to see a pantomime, usually at The Alex. Knowing this will help you to see that my son grew up being involved with other people. My son is now self employed specialist locksmith and he is asked to go to Liverpool, Manchester and London to open special locks that have ceased to function properly. He says to me " dad, how good was it when I used to come out with you?" He tells me that nowhere is as good as it was.

it would be nice to see a bit more civility like trollies in supermarkets most people on the roads are going onwere but haven't got time to let another car out and a lot don't indicate it all adds more hassle to life.
