Didcot Railway Centre

ColinB

gone but not forgotten
These pictures which could have been taken 50 years ago, were taken yesterday at Didcot Railway Centre.
All it needed was a bit of smoke and dust.

1. The reason for visiting Didcot was to see 6023 King Edward II, restored and returned to steam last month, nearly 50 years since it was withdrawn and sent to Barry scrap-yard.

2. The Red Kite that circled around all day.

Cracking photos Coiln and they look much more atmospheric in B/W, but I think the King would be far better in Brunswick green. Is the centre still under possible threat of closure?

Great photo's Colin as you say could be 50 years a ago. Lovely photo of the Red Kite they are always around our caravan site in Wales.

Great photo's Colin and reminds me of our holiday in Wales last year both the steam trains and red kites. Jean.
