Hello....! I am hoping someone may be able to tell me where in ASTON ..DIAMOND Place may have been ...
i have found my family living at #5 DIAMOND PLACE ASTON B'HAM in the 1901 census...
I realize it has since had a name change or doesn't exist any more but can't find out WHERE it may have been
If anyone can help ...I would greatly appreciate it ...

The "position" of Stratford St on Google seems to have been added by someone. I can't see any Stratford st there on any map. Don't know if it was someone being a prat, or just a mistake. Stratford st was/is off Camp Hill. The c 1889 map shows Diamond Place in the centre, off Stratford st.

I must correct one point in what I wrote previously. There is a Stratford St approximately where the google map shows , but it is the one near Camp hill that has Diamond Place in it, which is confirmed by the electoral roll. Diamond Place is next to no 58 Stratford St, and there is 56,57 & 58 between Diamind place & Devey's buildings

may i ask if you have a map showing devey's buildings my ggrandmother lived at no1 in 1901 and my grandmother lived at no 7 from 1911 untill 1968

Not with them named , but I assume that they are the row of buildings which you can see part of on the other side of the railway tracks in the map in my earlier post. There seems to be little change in the immediate area areound there, so it can only be those as far as I can see. Below is c1952 map with Diamond place buildings in blue, and Devey's buildings in red

thank you mikijee if i remember correct going to see my nan
deve'ys building was the first opening under the bridge and looking on the map that would be right
