I am trying to trace a childhood friend called Anne Deathridge, Who lived in Corrie Croft, Sheldon. Her parents ran two greengrocers shops in Garrets Green Lane. One at the top and the other on the corner of Cockshut Hill. Can anyone help? We were both born in 1938.Hello all,
Is there anyone else on the Forum with the surname Deathridge (born in Birmingham) in their family tree.

I may have posted that Lyn...it was Charlie Deathridge and his 2 sisters ran a greengrocers on Summer Lane across from the Geach pub. Actually, it was a combination of green groceries on the left of the shop & cycle parts on the right. Charlie also had a cycle repair shop up the yard behind the shop. We also took our accumulators there to be charged.i could have this wrong but i think i read somewhere on the forum that there used be greengrocers by that name (or something similar) down summer lane way...

Hi,Hi Delphine
Spotted your post just recently.
Based on the link to Corrie croft....my mom informs me that I had a great aunt (Elizabeth Deathridge) who lived in Corrie croft (My dads aunt) but she didn't marry and didn't have kids. Based on my grandfathers age, she would have been born anything around c1910 - 1920.
For info, my dad (1947-90) and grandfather (c.1915) were both John Deathridge and great grandfather was William Deathridge (c.1885-1979).
Hope that helps.
