unfortunately it would be difficult to find charles davis/davies earlier because the name is so common. the best way is to send for the marriage certificate which will give you his fathers name and occupation :)

Thanks for help but not sure about first family we had no arthur or william in our Davies :( sorry

hello tina, how do you know you had no william or arthur in your family as they would have probably moved on by 1901. william would have been about 21 and arthur 17.

in my opinion this is almost certainly the same family. hope someone else will have a look at it for you :)

It looks the same family to me, as Shera says getting the certificates would help to prove it.
William could have married and moved away at 21, so not be with the family in 1901. Sadly with a common name like Davies/Davis (don't forget the entries were written by an enumerator, not the people themselves so spelling mistakes are common) there are too many Arthur Davies entries to check on quickly, but he could be away (staying the night or living permanently) with someone else.

Many thanks for all your help i will carry on and get the cert .

Many thanks to the people who posted replies i have now received the marriage cert for Charles Davies and Rosina Clayton it is the right one as the witnesses match other family members ,so i am on the way !
Another question ,Charles address was 67 Lichfield St ,Aston. Rosinas just says Doe St ? is any one familiar with this .
