Crown And Cushion Pubs Perry Barr

I think it was demolished sometime in the mid or late 80s Lyn and was replaced by the dreadful new build Crown & Cushion, that then became The African Village, which itself closed down after a fire, that had occurred shortly after planning permission had been rejected to build flats on it's car park.

Here is a photograph of the two earlier Crown & Cushion pubs, with the older one in front of the 1930s built one:

thanks john i thought the 80s because i went in the little crown and cushion on the other side of the road a few times in the early 90s and i dont think the large crown was there then however i used the big crown and cushion a few times during my lunch break when i worked in the office block that was in the middle of the one stop shopping centre..this was early 70s..apart from offices there was also a great indian restaurant which i used many times during the 70s
