This is a Staffordshire enquiry for a friend....
With all the boundary changes that happened in the past, I'm hoping that someone can help out in searching for info on Arthur Crossdale - below is the info she has given me:
My 2x Great Uncle Arthur Crossdale (born 1887 in Burnley - died 1961 in Stoke) married in Burnley in 1914 to an Elsie Cope who was born in 1889 in Leek the Daughter of William Thomas and Elizabeth Cope.
Elsie died in 1916 in Leek and Arthur remarried in Leek to an Annie Elizabeth Fisher (born 1895 in Worksop, Daughter of William Henry and Marie Fisher) Annie died in 1971 in Ince.
I did contact Arthur's Grandson and he gave me some up to date info about the family, but hasn't replied to my email asking him if he knew anything about his Grandfather.....I was hoping he may have had photographs. Its a mystery how he ended up living there or how he met his first wife. He was in the Regular army prior to WW1, but his regiment was no where near Leek.
Many thanks for any info that any of you cvould supply!!
