Coventry Road Trams

master brummie
They are digging up the Coventry Road just outside the former Arthur Road Tram/Trolley/Bus/ garage better known as Coventry Road garage and where they have opened the road up there are the remains of the cross members that held the B.C.T Tram track in postion photos are to be seen on https://my.bus.photos.fotopic.net/c1230631.html
the tram track has long since gone but is iteresting to note that the members are still there and possibly will still be there for a while, even the people working on the road have left the steelwork in situ rather that cut them out

Does anyone know what is going on inside the former Tram/Trolley/Bus garage as I past today 22/july/2008 there was a lot of noise coming from inside the building, the building has been empty for a time now I supect that the garage? will be knocked down or made into a storage depot time will tell

Bammot, The garage has been used for several years by a company that sets up music gigs the supply all audio and related equipment they are top class roadies.

Bammot, Re old garage if you turn left off the Coventry Rd into Arthur Rd you might be held up by one of the very large lorries going in or out of the rear entrance to the garage.
