Courtney Road Great Barr

I was five years old when we moved to Courtney Rd in 1938 or 1939. It was just built and cost £300 and £10 deposit. By the time war broke out we had moved to Abingdon Rd and I moved school to Hastings Rd. When I moved to the juniors in Hawthorn Rd in 1942 I was in the same class as Peter Walker who even then knew more than most of us.
