COLEY and HINKS family

Sorry can't help but I am often looking for the Colesley family and get nowhere. In particular Elvira (Cissie) Colesley who was my mother's maid of honour just after WW1. The name seems to have disappeared.

Re: Coley

I have a William Coley living at 38 Gilbert Road Smethwick. He and his wife Gertrude (Williams) lived in the same house for years.

I have no information beyond that except one name Joseph, we assume Coley. Probably Williams father.

If you have any information on this family it would be a great help.

joseph coley aged 48 a brass finisher b. in wolverhampton, wife louisa 46 b. leeds, william coley 20 brass fininsher b.bham
also gladys 19, allen 16, carrie 13, thomas 11, john ivor 9, louisa 8 all b. bham and sarah 6 b. smethwick

Hey there Shera the true brummie.

Thank you so much for the info. I have the 1891 census for Joseph Louisa and William living at 1 Comberton Terrace, Barford Rd. It now confirms Wolverhampton as the birth place for Joseph which is a big help. I might be able to back in time with this information now.
