Hi there, I see you are researching the Coates family on the Birmingham History Forum.

I have got Coates family in the Aston and Bordesley area around the same time and wondered if there is a connection.

I have a William coates b. 1821 - 1873 approx. in 1841 living at 21 Crt, High Street, Aston and in 1861 at 12 Betholom Row and 1891 7 Wheeleys Lane Kings Norton. He married Ann Sharpe in 1844 who was orig. from Scotland. His parents were Thomas Coates and Elizabeth Eginton. Thomas was born c. 1766 at Tanworth. Do you think there is a connection?

Kind regards
Heather Goodwin (nee Coates)
