Yes, I remember Izatt and Lowcock. Pete Whitmore was the Food Hall manager and Richard Brain was Greengrocery manager.
I worked in greengrocery from 1981 - 83.

You can see the the "Co-op Central" main building in the background.

After the rubble was cleared away, this is how the "Big Top" site got its name.... It later became a car park until the area was redeveloped.

In 1885 there is an avert stating tat there is a 9th after season clearance sale, at The Louvre, 82 High Street. So it may have opened in 1876.

In 1887 an advert says The Louvre Establishment, 80,81,82 High St (in the new premises adjoining).

In 1898 the first mention of Grand Louvre, E Fletcher Co. Ltd.

In 1927 the first mention of Co-op Drapery department, Grand Louvre.

On this photo from 1887 you can clearly see on the top of the building on the left the sign saying "The Louvre"
