Hi Barbara i was a good mate of John Cashmore in Clifton Road he lived behind our house [32] another mate behind us was Philip Jackson and another good mate across the road was Tony Raczek and a few doors down was Kevin Lacey Good Days Raz x
Hi Raz, Philip Jackson is my brother, I knew Johnny Cashmore too and his younger brother, my old mate, David Cashmore. We had many good times playing in the 'yard' behind and next to your garden wall.

I lived in Clifton Road, address was 13/32 between 1963 up to 1971 when I moved to Arden Drive, Newtown and from there, a few years later to New Croft, Newtown. We moved to Clifton Road from Pritchett Street, where my parents used to manage the Bulls Head public house. I initially attended Elkington Street Infant school, then moved to Upper Thomas Street School (when we moved to Clifton Rd). I have very fond memories of those years, the smells of the Ansells Brewery and HP Sauce factories, and who could forget the 'banshee screams' of the steel pipes and tubes being extruded and swaged at the Tubes factory in Rocky Lane. :)

Oh wow, thanks for pointing this out Brummy-lad. I remember climbing that lamp post and swinging on the arm when I was a kid. Also down the 'entry' across the roof there used to be metal bars too that we used to swing on :)
