hi we ae looking for the marriage of alfred & hetty wright.we have been to the libary today and have looked at most churches where most of our family have married through the generations but cannot find them:(.so we are now wondering if hetty was catholic therefore they would of married in a catholic chuch .alfred was living in conybere street at the time so were looking at the highgate,balsall heath maybe deritend areas for the marriage which was in september 1929 thanks
 
hi walshy..as albion has said it would be on the marriage certificate....i am assuming of course that as you know the month and year of the marriage you have a copy of it....if not you need a marriage look up...

I assume that walshy means that they have already done the lookup - it's on FreeBMD - and it's in the September Quarter of 1929. Probably not worth all that searching to save seven quid and, if it is a Register Office marriage, then they'll be searching forever! :D

hi maurice..hope you are well..if thats the case there will be a marriage ref number....like i say a copy of this will sort out where they were married..i always opt for the easy option...lol

Yes, I'm fine thanks - you too I hope. I needed to be 99% sure of the church when I lived in the UK, otherwise it was opt for the cert. Now, of course, the certificate is my only route! Had a case this week though of Smedley Hydro ignoring my checking points & ending up with the wrong cert. :( Unfortunately it wasn't a Brum birth, so I didn't have any real option but to use Smedley. Hopefully, now that I've caught them out, they'll do a search and not charge me anymore as I've given them the alternative refs!
