Church in Gilby Road Ladywood in 1979

I'm not sure if this is the best category for this post so feel free to move it to a more suitable one if you need to. I realised recently that I have nearly lived in Birmingham for 50 years. I moved here on 25th September 1975. I am in the process of making a blog to review my 50 years in Birmingham. I will have a section on the churches I attended. In 1979 I went to a church on Gilby Road that is still standing ( until the Ladywood redevelopment at least) but it now has a different name to when I was there. I wondered if anyone remembers anything about it from the late 70s, especially it's old name. It's next to Lincoln Tower. Nothing has turned up via my online searches so far.

thanks jan i did wonder if it had been one of those temporary church buildings put up before gilby road existed

unusual shaped roof i wonder when it was built...below todays street view

Lyn that’s a late 50's early 60's Cast in Stitu concrete roof. Known as self-supporting giving a clear open space inside. There is also one on the Co-op in Kingstanding. Very beautify and hellishly expensive to build.
