Hi, does anyone have any old pictures of Church Grove, off Park Road directly (opposite Musgrave Road) From around 1974-1978..

i was born in a house in this road and trying to help my mum who has the early signs of dementia remember things and want to start at the beginning and create a timeline from married life to now (in a this is your life book style).. any help or information is appreciated. Thanks

hi sonia and welcome...later on today i will search my photos for you although photos of groves hard hard to find as opposed to main streets and roads but fingers crossed

Hi Sonia, sorry I couldn't help when you messaged me. I've looked for Church Grove but I'm still not able to find anything. Maybe Astoness will be luckier. She's very good at this sort of thing. I think it must be quite a new development as it's not on my maps so I'm hoping that someone will be able to find it for you on Google Streetview.

There maybe some difficulty here, as the Grove appears to have been demolished by around 1977.

Thanks Lyn, any information isapprreciated.

I now have these maps showing where it was at opposite Musgrave Road/Park Road junction but no pictures and don’t know where to get a map from.

Hi, I was born in feb 1977 when we were living there and moved late that year as it was being demolished. I was hoping someone would have a map of it or some pictures from there... I know it’s a tough one as I’m struggling to find anything.

even if anyone can recommend any websites or anywhere to get good maps etc from it would be appreciated.

oh what a shame i have loads of photos of park road and have just gone through them all looking for one of church grove...just found one of park grove which looking at the map was only a few feet away from church grove...will keep searching

hi sonia....bingo...i have 2 photos of park grove..one is a head on shot the other is a shot which by luck shows further down and in that one you can see the entrance to church grove...maybe not ideal but its the best i have..do you want me to post them both for you

I didn’t realise it was that old! Is there anywhere I can get a larger print of the map from? Am happy to buy it. Thanks
Do you mean a larger area . If so I could probably compile one if you say what are you want covered. It would have the OLD-Maps waterprint on it. you can purchase prints or pfs from the old maps site without the watermark -I think the cost for more recent (ie 1950s) maps is £16 for a pdf or £27-50 for a print.

Thank you, I’ll have a look on old maps and figure out how to get something without the watermark.. just want probably from the prison over to the back of church grove showing the train track and st michaels church as they are the areas she can remember.
