I wonder if someone could help with this marriage. On 29th November 1875, William Henry Johnson married Kezia (Kazia) Sutton at Sparkbrook - was this a village in those days? I need to know the names of their father's and if poss. witnesses to be sure I've got the right family - Have been looking for them for 5 years and then a breakthrough!.
Thank you so much for your help - I'm so impressed with this forum and all your genorosity and knowledge.

My grandparents were married at Christ Church Sparkbrook in 1899 this may be the church you are looking for. The records are at Central Library Birmingham. Here are a couple of pictures the church was demolished last year:(

Hi wendy, Thank you so much for the information and the photos - shame such a beautiful church was demolished. I will send for the certificate which I hope will give me the info I need.

I don't think that Sparkbrook was ever a village, just a suburb area built to house the workers of all the factories. There were many churches.
