Hi everyone,

It nice to be back on here, have not been well so have not posted for a while.

Is there anyone that could do a look up for Arthur Clayton born c1898 it could be St Martins, i am trying to figure out if i have been following the wrong line he had a brother named Herbert born c1890 and a sister called Ethel c1893 also a older brother Edward not sure when he was born yet.

I am hoping for the parents names to see if it is the right one.

Thanks so much for your time Paula:(

paula, theres an igi submitted entry

herbert william clayton birth abt 1890 parents george clayton and kate adderley. it then traces back to the late eighteenth century but dont know if its your herbert or if its correct
all the best.

Hi Shera

Yes i know about that one as that is the one that has caused me this headache, a family that the parents were Kate and George but when i was told about the igi reference that's when it said the father George Clayton's parents were Edwin and Eliza.

I was told George's parent's were William and Ann, so i have been ordering birth cert's to find out which one is right.

I have Herbert William Clayton birth cert now i also have Ethel's cert but that has thrown me because we know her name was Ethel Elizabeth but the cert say's Ethel Lizzie same parent's as Hertbert.

Hope this makes sense kind regards Paula:shock:

there are two families on the 1861 census with george exactly the same age, as you said one with father edwin who is a gold cutter and the other with father william who is a whip finisher.

Hi Shera

Thanks that's what my problem is i have Ethel's marriage cert which i know is 100 per cent right and the witnesses were Maggie Williams and Herbert Clayton which i take is her brother she married George Baker in 1914 and they both gave their address as Back of 15 Bartholomew Row. I think i will need to get Arthur and Edward's birth cert's then follow the other census and see where i go thanks so much for your help and time.

Kind regards Paula:redface:
