I have recently received 3 copies of a monthly magazine for Christ Church Sparkbrook dated April and May 1893 and May 1895. They are in such a state that the bin is really the best place for them however they contain details of marriages and baptisms that took place around those dates. These may be of interest to someone, someday so I have copied the following details, before they go in the bin ( recycled of course )

that made me sit up and take notice, my grandmother was married there, but 2nd time around in 1953, still did not stop me from looking through to see if there were earlier generations there.

could he be related to "our" Mr Chinn ??
 
As these magazines came from the same source, I wondered if there was a reason why these 3 magazines were saved for all this time, haven't found anything yet, may be a marriage and then a baptism in the same family.
I have checked a couple of the other names there really was a Sahara Louisa Skingle
and Franklin Walter Walsh Heaven born March 1895 died June 1895.

It made me look too. My grandparents Clarissa Yates and Walter Jennings were married there in July 1899. I am now looking if the Harry Yates baptisim is connected..... Thanks for posting the information Colin!

this is my first ever post so hope its right. I was interested in you records I see that it contains Mary jessie Moffat who was baptised at Christchurch April 9th 1893. This Church held many links to the Moffat family who I have spent time reasearching. the family lived local to the Church and had a building firm at 46 South Road Camp hill.

Hi Sue, and welcome to the forum. As you will have seen the information was in three parish magazines I obtained, and although they only cover a short time, it was information I felt need to be kept hence my posting.
Can I suggest you post a little about yourself and your interests in the welcome section, you never know who reads these, maybe someone can help you further in your research.

Colin your a gem, thanx for that info, there are a couple of surnames there that appear in my tree, not sure yet if the ones listed are related, but it will be fun finding out, once again thanx for your time and thoughtfulness. :)

Alfred and Leah Bartlett

These are my great grand parents ...................they lived in Highgate Road. Alfred died in 1913 in Selly Oak Workhouse infirmary Hospital of cancer of the tonsil. Just recentlt through Genes Reunited my mother was reunited with John Bartlett her cousin and yes we are distant relatives of Carl Chinn as I've mentioned before which has got me wondering about the reference to John Henry Chinn. Florence Bartlett was the younger sister of Alfred she is Carls great grandmother. John wrote a piece about Leah, Alfreds wife for the Brummagen magazine. Leah died at the age of 80 in 1953. Would it be alright for me to attach his memory of Leah on here without affecting copyrights etc
