Does anyone know if the green structure behind the brick-built church is a former tin church? If so would this have been the original church? Just a thought. Viv.

Viv,
I cannot help with the tin structure but what about the lorry parked on the pavement? Woe betide anyone with a pram or a wheelchair trying to get past.

Thanks Janice. Interesting link. So according to the link the tin tabernacle was used for 8 years from 1905 until a new brick church was built. Viv.

Hi Ivor. I expect it's like a church hall inside. And when it rains, imagine it's pretty noisy ! Viv.

Just to say that tin roofs are very common here in Australia, it's not a cost saving it's a bit of a fashion/choice thing.
After a spell of hot/or dry period there is nothing nicer to hear than rain falling on a tin roof and knowing that life will go on.
Cheers Tim.

Everybody keeps bringing back memories from 1941 to 1947 used to walk along Chester Road from Court Lane to Green Lsnes school past this church and in my early years 44 to 47 went to it because Mr Cotton (the pastor is that the right word?) lived in Court Lane and persuaded my mum that I should attend, preferred walking down there to go to the cinema in the Pavilion, were we not lucky all those years ago with all those cinemas and all the buses to get there., keep all the memories coming please
